Make Dad’s Day, For Free!
Mums and families are being encouraged to give dad the perfect gift this Father’s Day 2015 – get him fishing! The special promotion is part of the annual Take A Friend Fishing (TAFF) campaign, organised and run by the Angling Trades Association in partnership with the Environment Agency and supported by Angling Trust and individual fishery venues.
It’s easy to participate in TAFF – cut out or print off the rod licence voucher, fill in your contact details, validate it online at www.takeafriendfishing.co.uk, read the Terms and Conditions, grab your fishing tackle and the voucher, and go fishing with your Dad or a friend!
To ‘Take your Dad fishing for free’ between 16th June and 21st June 2015, download the voucher from: http://www.takeafriendfishing.co.uk/offers/free-rod-licence-voucher/
To make Father’s Day especially memorable, participating anglers and their Dads could win £400 (RRP) worth of tackle each from brands like Abu Garcia, Greys, Hardy, Shakespeare, Chub, JRC, Mitchell and Berkley. Once the fishing session is over, all they need to do is send the completed TAFF voucher along with their contact details, a picture of both people fishing together and details of where the fishing took place to: Take A Friend Fishing, Angling Trades Association, 60 Windsor Avenue, London SW19 2RR. The deadline for entries is 3rd July 2015. Winners will be notified in writing and then asked to choose which tackle items they would like.
Rod licences also make a fantastic Father’s Day gift for the rest of the fishing season, and they are valid on over 5,000 rivers, lakes and ponds across England. It’s quick and easy to buy a rod licence online or at the post office (www.postoffice.co.uk/rod-fishing-licence). And kids under 12 can join in the fun for free throughout the year. A great place to find out more information on your local venues is http://fishinginfo.co.uk.
The free rod licence voucher cannot be used to fish for coarse fish on any river, stream or drain in England and Wales between 15th March and 15th June inclusive, when there is a ‘no-fishing’ close season to allow fish to breed. The closed season may apply to some canals and still waters in your area – please check before going fishing.
